Bowlers power India to series-clinching win over New Zealand

India clinched a thumping win over New Zealand in the second ODI at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Saturday. A dominant Indian team bulldozed a sub-par New Zealand side by 9 wickets. The hosts outclassed New Zealand in all departments as they first bowled out the Tom Latham-led side for 108 in 34.3 overs, their third-lowest total against India, and gunned down the 109-run target with 8 wickets in hand in just 20.1 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma (51) and opener Shubman Gill (40not out) flayed the Kiwi bowling attack to guide India home.

Rohit reached fifty with a single in the 13th over before Shipley caught him leg-before wicket with a low ball. Virat Kohli received the loudest applause from the crowd, but he could only last nine balls before succumbing to Santner for the second time in as many games. India's pace attack led by Mohammed Shami produced a sensational performance to bowl out New Zealand for 108 in the second ODI after Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl. With this, India now has a 2-0 lead over New Zealand in the 3-match ODI series. In an easy chase, India scored 111 runs in 20.1 overs winning the match by 8 wickets. Skipper Rohit Sharma hit 51 runs out of 50 balls. New Zealand scored 108 runs in 34.3 overs. The Kiwis kept struggling from the beginning itself as it lost wickets in quick succession.
