Star Indian trap shooter Neeru Dhanda is India’s flag-bearer at the closing ceremony of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya on Sunday. The 27-year-old was named by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to lead the Indian contingent during the Parade of Nations at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.
India concluded its Asian Games campaign in fourth place with 85 medals, including 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze. China topped the medal tally with 341 medals, including 169 gold, followed by hosts Japan with 269 medals, including 83 gold. South Korea finished third with 150 medals, including 39 gold.Dhanda emerged as one of India’s standout performers at the Games, winning two gold medals and a silver in trap shooting. She became the first Indian woman to win an individual trap gold at the Asian Games.

The closing ceremony is being held at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium, the same venue that hosted the opening ceremony. The Olympic Council of Asia has listed the ceremony for October 4, marking the conclusion of the 20th Asian Games.
Doha to Host Next Asian Games
The Asian Games are scheduled to return to Doha, Qatar, with the city set to host the 21st edition. The Olympic Council of Asia’s current calendar lists Doha as the host for the 2030 Asian Games.Doha previously hosted the Asian Games in 2006. The closing ceremony in Nagoya will mark the transition towards the next edition as the Asian Games flag is handed over to the next host.
