"I told you so... he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of Punjab," Former punjab chief minister Amrinder Singh said shortly after the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu as the state Congress chief on Tuesday. Earlier, Sidhu sent his resignation letter to party chief Sonia Gandhi in which he said that he will continue to serve the Congress."The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee," Sidhu said in his letter sent to Gandhi.

Navjot SIngh Sidhu's resignation is only the latest update in a series of dramatic developments in Punjab over the last few weeks.Experts sees four five reasons for Sidhu's sudden exit. It is said that he was upset for not being considered for the CM's post.
In another development, more Congress leaders resigned. Acccording to media reports, Razia Sultana resigned as Punjab cabinet minister on Tuesday, days after taking oath as a legislator. Congress leader Yoginder Dhingra resigned as general secretary, Gulzar Inder Chahal resigned as treasurer of Punjab Congress.
