The TMC has nominated former Prasar Bharati CEO Jawhar Sircar to the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal. In a post from its official Twitter handle, the party announced its decision to nominate Sircar in the upper house of Parliament. Mr. Sircar spent nearly 42 years in public service & was also the former CEO of Prasar Bharati. His invaluable contribution to public service shall help us serve our country even better!
After retrement Sircar was associated with the Trinamool Congress and actively participating the party's activities. He is a West Bengal cadre retired IAS officer and retired as the Culture Secretary in the govt pof India. After that he was selected for the post of CEO, Prasar Bharti during the UPA-II fovernment.
