More leaders take a dig at Congress leadership

In Congress, dissent voices are gaing support from other leadersm and it has now becoming Congress vs Congress. Former Union external affairs minister Natwar Singh criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday saying that Rahul along with ‘two other’ leaders are responsible for the problems that Congress is facing. He also said that Rahul Gandhi has no designation within the party but ‘continues to call the shots'.

Former union minister and party leader  Shashi Tharoor also extended support to Congress leader Kapil Sibal and countering the narrative of the pro-high command team that Congress gave recognition to Sibal, Tharoor said Kapil Sibal is a true Congressman who fought many legal battles for the Congress. "As a democratic party, we need to listen to what he has to say, disagree if you must but not in this way. Our priority is to strengthen ourselves to take on the BJP!" Tharoor tweeted.

Other senior Congress leaders, however, asked their colleagues to exercise restraint while criticising fellow leaders. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera urged the party leaders not to go public with the internal matters of the party saying that it has the potential to affect the morale of ground-level workers.

On the othe hand, former chief minister Amrinder Singh has announced that he is not with the Congress anymore. He also stated that ex-Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu was not the right man for the state, adding, "I won't let him win from anywhere." During a press conference in New Delhi, Singh said: "I will be leaving Congress. My meeting with Amit Shah had no political connection. I discussed security like Pak drones flying over Punjab with Ajit Doval." Talking about a floor test, Amarinder Singh said, " The speaker will decide whether there will be a floor test. Sidhu is undermining CM Channi's authority."

Senior Congress leader, P Chidambaram expressed his disappointment over the current political fiasco within the Congress and said that he felt “helpless” on failing to start "meaningful conversations" in party forums. “I also feel hurt and helpless when I see pictures of Congress workers raising slogans outside the residence of a colleague and MP. The safe harbour to which one can withdraw seems to be silence,” the former finance minister of India added.
