In Bihar, after several rounds of talks and meetings, BJP and JDu has reportedly reached a seat-sharing formula in principle for Assembly elections 2020. The JDU will get 122 of the 243 seats while the BJP will have 121 seats. As per reported agreement,Kumar's party will accommodate Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha within its quota, the BJP will give seats to Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party from its share if they remain in the alliance. It is said that HAM lakely to get 5 to 7 seats
If sources are to be believed, the stand taken by the BJP compelled Nitish Kumar to take a step back and agree to the 50-50 seat-sharing formula for the Bihar election. Bihar's ruling alliance has been rocked by trouble because of a prolonged feud between Nitish Kumar and Chirag Paswan who served an ultimatum last week, demanding an immediate announcement of seats. Chirag has reportedly been bargaining hard with the BJP and demanding at least 42 seats. BJP, on the other hand, has offered 15 seats to LJP. Due to the stand-off, Chirag Paswan has hinted that his party may fight the Bihar Election 2020 on 143 seats alone. The matter between the BJP and the LJP, however, remains unresolved. Final announcement about seat sharing likely to be made eigther Sunday night or Mondy.
