Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the portraits of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Saturday, January 3,2026. During the event, Singh also released a coffee table book titled Bharat Mata in the presence of Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta. The book is dedicated to the creative and artistic expression of Indian national consciousness, on the occasion of 150 years of the composition of the National Song Vande Mataram. Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh said, it is not only an occasion to honour the contributions of these two big personalities, but it is also a moment to honour the country’s parliamentary traditions, moral politics and the spirit of nationalism. The Delhi Assembly Speaker stated that it is a meaningful homage to two towering national figures whose lives were dedicated to serving the nation and strengthening democratic values. He observed that their lives and contributions embody ideals of patriotism, courage and public service, which continue to inspire elected representatives and citizens alike.
