Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant inaugurated a 24x7 automated locker facility set up by Bank of Maharashtra inside the Supreme Court premises in New Delhi on on Tuesday, September 1.2026. The facility, described by the bank as a technology-driven initiative aimed at enhancing convenience and security, was inaugurated in the presence of other judges of the Supreme Court and Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Sanjay Lohiya.Lohiya appreciated the initiative and said the automated locker facility would significantly improve convenience and security for its users, said a press statement. MD & CEO, Bank of Maharashtra, Nidhu Saxena, also present.
