In USA, a van smashed into a security barricade near the White House early Wednesday, police said, forcing a shutdown of the area in downtown Washington during morning rush hour.The vehicle struck a gate at Lafayette Square, just north of the White House, which is an area normally bustling with tourists and office workers. A driver has been detained after crashing a van through a White House barricade, cops said. The van plowed through the security barricade at Connecticut Avenue and H Street, Northwest, just before 6:30 a.m..
