Prime minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the 76th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Saturday, highlighted India's inclusive democracy and its importance to the world. He stated that reforms in India would help in transforming the world. "When India grows, the world grows. When India reforms, the world transforms," PM Modi said during his speech in the UNGA at the UN Headquarters in New York. "Development should be all-inclusive, all-nutritive, all-touching and all-pervasive. This is our priority," he added.
Modi said it is crucial to ensure Afghanistan territory is not used to spread terrorism or terror attacks. We need to be alert and ensure no country tries to take advantage of the delicate situation there and use it as a tool for their selfish interests. Our oceans are also the lifeline of international trade. We must protect them from the race for expansion. The international community must speak in one voice to strengthen a rule-based world order.he said. Modi further said that the threat of regressive thinking and extremism is increasing in front of the world. Under these circumstances, the whole world must make Science-Based, Rational and Progressive Thinking the basis of development. In such a situation it is essential to strengthen the United Nations to protect the global order, global laws and global values.
PM Modi calls for Covid-19 vaccine makers to come and make their vaccines in India. He started his speech by paying homage to all those who lost their lives in such a terrible pandemic and express his condolences to the families. India has developed world's first DNA vaccine for Covid-19 which can be administered to everyone above the age of 12,” PM says in his address. PM Modi also spoke about the prevailing crisis of drinking water around the world, including India. "Polluted water is not just a problem in India. It is a major problem in poor and progressive countries as well," PM Modi said. He added, "To tackle this challenge, we are running a huge campaign to connect 17 crore households with fresh water pipelines."
