We'll bomb Delhi, Mumbai if US targets our nukes: Pak’s ex- India envoy

Former Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has publicly advocated targeting Indian cities in a hypothetical conflict scenario involving Western powers. His controversial remark has triggered concern amid rising regional tensions. Speaking during a discussion centred on a hypothetical conflict, Basit said, “If America attacks Pakistan we have to attack India, Mumbai, New Delhi, without a second thought. We won’t leave it we’ll see what happens later.” “What route do you think will be good for us? India,” Abdul Basit said, adding that even if Pakistan is out of range of its direct attackers, it should “never give up” on targeting Indian metropolises.

Abdul Basit served as Islamabad’s top diplomat in New Delhi from 2014 to 2017,a period marked by complex ties between the two countries.
