The policy, which was approved by the state Cabinet in 2024, significantly enhances incentives for filmmakers producing local content. According to information, the subsidy for films in regional languages such as Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari has been increased eightfold.“At the same time, the subsidy for those shooting films in the state in 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule has also been doubled,” underlining the government’s push to position Uttarakhand as a preferred destination for film production.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Ram Navami, Dhami, along with his wife Geeta Dhami, performed Kanya Pujan at his residence and honoured young girls as embodiments of the Devi. He also extended greetings to the people of the state, noting that the life and ideals of Lord Ram continue to inspire adherence to truth, righteousness, and duty.
