England's teen Emma Raducanu became the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam singles title ever after she defeated 19-year-old Leylah Fernandez in the women's singles final at US Open 6-4, 6-3 on Saturday. Raducanu also became the first British woman in 44 years to win a Grand Slam title.Emma Raducanu also became the youngest Grand Slam champion since Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon in 2004.Emma Raducanu's composure in crunch moments showcased she is going to be in these big matches quite a few times in the future.

Her mental toughness was questioned when she retired from the 4th round at Wimbledon, her maiden Grand Slam appearance but she answered her naysayers in style at the US Open. Those flowing winners from both the backhand and forehand was too good for her opponents in New York.
