Federal officials said the officer fired in self-defence during an encounter with a motorist who allegedly tried to run them over.
US President Donald Trump defended the ICE officer involved in the shooting, claiming the woman had deliberately targeted federal agents. Sharing a video clip, Trump said the driver had "violently, wilfully, and viciously" run over the officer, who he said fired in self-defence. He also described another woman heard screaming in the footage as a "professional agitator". "Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital," Trump falsely claimed, referring to the officer.United States Secretary of Homeland Security,Kristi Noem says woman killed had been 'STALKING, IMPEDING' work of ICE all day.
