US destroyed 3 Iranian oil tankers after IRGC attacks on Navy ships

The United States Central Command on Saturday said it had stuck three Iranian oil tankers following IRGC missile attacks targeting two American Navy warships.“Following Iran’s failed attacks, CENTCOM permanently disabled the IRGC crude oil carriers M/T Downy off the coast of Kharg Island and M/T Stark 1 near Jask. American forces also completely destroyed the unladen crude oil carrier M/T Kylo… in the Gulf of Oman, striking the vessel in multiple critical locations to render it inoperable after the crew was directed to abandon ship,” US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on X.US CENTCOM issued a warning to the IRGC. “Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost —taking out three of yours,” US Admiral and CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper said.

The semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim had earlier reported that a tanker was hit by US forces near Kharg Island, a key oil export hub in the Persian Gulf.Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said it fired several ballistic missiles at a US aircraft carrier and a Navy destroyer.
