In Uttar Pradesh, Ghaziabad police has lodged named FIR against nine persons and organisations for their alleged involvement in spreading communal hatred in the state. They include journalists Rana Ayub, Saba Naqvi, Mohd Zubair, Dr Shama Mohammad, Salman Nizami, Maskoor Usmani and media organisations The Wire and Twiter. They have been booked for spreading a video clip in the name of assault to a old muslim fellow with communal intention. In this case a video clip was vired on social media in which a old beared person was shown being thrashed and his beare was cut forcefully.
It was said that a muslim fellow was beaten badly and insulted on communal grounds. It was also said that victim was forced for chating Jai Sriram by the culprits. Later on police denied it and issued a press release. Police has said that there was no communal basis in the incident. Culprits and victims were known to each other and muslim youths were also allegedly involved into the incident. Victim was from Bulandshahr and he was brought by the culprits knowingly. Police has also claimed that some of culprits have been arrested. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had also tweet in this regard and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has strongly criticised him for putting wrong information with bad intentions. Loni border police station in Ghaziabad district has lodged crime number 0502 under different provisions of Act of 1860 on Tuesday night.
