UP Trade fair concludes, MoUs worth Rs6,500 cr signed

The fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) concluded in Noida on Tuesday with 4,400 MoUs worth around Rs 6,500 crore were signed and potential business estimated at Rs 15,500 crore, according to the Uttar Pradesh government. The five-day mega trade show, held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre, provided the state’s MSMEs, exporters and manufacturers a platform to connect with domestic and international buyers, the government said. In addition, business enquiries received during the trade show indicated potential business worth around Rs 15,500 crore.

According to official figures from the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), 41,500 B2B and business meetings were recorded during the event. Of these, 13,500 took place in the Reverse Buyers-Sellers Meet (RBSM) area, while around 28,000 business interactions were recorded in the main exhibition area, the government said. These interactions enabled domestic and international buyers to work out business partnerships with entrepreneurs and manufacturers from Uttar Pradesh, it said.
The trade show recorded a total attendance of 5,98,693 visitors and business buyers, comprising 1,74,990 domestic business buyers and 4,23,703 general visitors, according to the government. The government’s focus on expanding UPITS’ international reach was reflected in the participation of six partner countries this year – Russia, Austria, Japan, Singapore, Belarus and Vietnam. Russia was the sole partner country at the previous edition.

Foreign delegations showed particular interest in Uttar Pradesh’s manufacturing, IT, electronics, textiles and agri-food processing sectors, according to the government. The government’s One District, One Cuisine (ODOC) initiative emerged as a major attraction for domestic and international buyers, it said. Traditional crafts, handloom products, brassware, carpets, leather products and distinctive agricultural products from all 75 districts were showcased to buyers from across the country and abroad.

The government said the direct engagement of MSMEs and local artisans with international companies, including the receipt of direct orders, made the trade show’s business outcomes more practical and result-oriented. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, the trade show marks a significant step towards the state’s objective of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.
