UP police files FIR against union minister's son

In Uttar Pradesh, amid hactic political activites, an FIR has been registered against Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Misra's son Ashish in connection with the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri during which eight people, including four farmers, were killed on Sunday.  Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said strict action would be taken against those found guilty. The State government has sent Additional Chief Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi, ADG law and order Prashant Kumar and IG Lucknow Ms Laxmi Singh to on the spot. Condition of injured farmers leader Tejinder Singh Virk is critical and he has been referred to Lucknow. It is alleged that four farmers were crushed to death while protesting against the Dy CM of the State Keshav Prasad Maurya and Union Minister of Home Ajay Misra Teni at Banwaripur area of the district. Agitating farmers had parked tractors and trollies at the helipad constructed for Dy CM  Maurya's helicopter landing. He tried to reach on the venue by road but returned back due to farmers agitation.

 Internet services have been suspended in Lakhimpur Kheri. Ajay Misra and his son Ashish, however, claimed that protesters attacked the convoy and killed a driver and three others, including two BJP workers. The Union minister of state for home said neither his son, nor he was present at the site when the incident occurred.

Meanwhile , BSP supremo Mayawati demands a judicial probe into the whole incident. Congress leader Ms Priyanka Gandhi detained at Lucknow but she did not stop and moved on by foot and has reached Lakhimpur Kheri. The Uttar Pradesh police detained her in Hargaon police station area when she was going to Tikunia village. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday claimed that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh, who was going to express condolences to the families of the deceased farmers, was stopped by the top police and administration officials on the road overnight.  Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav will be reaching Lakhimpur Kheri.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and other opposition leaders condemned the violence in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri, where eight people including four farmers were killed in a protest against two BJP ministers. BJP MP Varun Gandhihave expressed grief over the killing of farmers and asked the CM to take strict action against guilty.  Ms Mamata Banerjee has announced to send TMC MPs to meet the injured farmers and family members of deceased farmers. Similarly Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and Punjab Deputy CM Sukhjinder S Randhawa  flights were not allowed to land at Lucknow airport.
