The results of the Provincial Civil Service examination-the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS) 2024, conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission have been announced on late Sunday, the state government said on Monday. Among the selected candidates, there is a notable presence of aspirants not only from Uttar Pradesh but also from states such as Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh. Out of the 932 candidates selected, 92.7 per cent (864) are from Uttar Pradesh, while 7.3 per cent (68) of the candidates are from other states, it said. Neha Panchal achieved the first rank, followed closely by Ananya Trivedi from Uttar Pradesh in second place, while Abhay Pratap Singh secured the third spot.This year, female candidates made a remarkable impression, with six candidates in the top 10, among which four hail from Uttar Pradesh.
Among the selected candidates, 272 belong to the OBC category, 186 to the SC, and 22 to the ST. The recommendations of the selected candidates will be sent to the state govt for appointment procedures. According to commission secretary Ashok Kumar, details of marks, along with category-wise and post-wise cut-off marks, will be uploaded on the official website. Initially, the commission had advertised 947 posts across 24 different categories. However, selections have been made for 932 posts due to the non-availability of suitable candidates.
