The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to give three years relaxation in the upper age limit for the applicants of the recently advertised UP Police and PAC constable recruitment. After the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it has been decided to provide a one-time three-year relaxation in the maximum age limit for the proposed direct recruitment to 2025 for UP civilian police and equivalent positions. A total of 32,679 posts will be filled under Direct Recruitment-2025. This age relaxation will be provided once to the candidates of all categories who are participating in the recruitment process for the posts.
As per the government order, this age relaxation will be provided once to candidates of all categories participating in the recruitment process for the posts of Constable Civil Police (Male/Female), Constable PAC/Armed Police (Male), Constable Special Security Force (Male), Female Constable for Women Battalion, Constable Mounted Police (Male) and Jail Warder (Male and Female). This decision, implemented through a government order issued on January 5, 2026, in continuation of the recruitment notification issued on December 31, 2025, will provide opportunities to many candidates who were previously excluded from the recruitment process due to age limits.
“This move by the Yogi government sends a clear message that the state government understands the real problems of youth and does not shy away from taking concrete decisions to address them. Providing equitable opportunities to candidates preparing for competitive examinations, providing a wide range of employment options, and maintaining sensitivity in administrative decisions have become part of the Yogi government's working style,” the release claimed.
