The United Nations has condemned the killing of Rohingya community leader Mohibullaha in the Cox’s Bazar area of Bangladesh on Wednesday and called on the authorities to investigate the incident, reports Reuters. The UN Spokesperson  urged the Bangladeshi authorities to investigate the killing and hold the people responsible for it to account. The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Mohibullah a fierce advocate of the human rights of Rohingya Muslims around the world and demanded a transparent investigation into the case. UNHCR, US Ambassador to Bangladesh , UK High Commissioner and European Union in Bangladesh among several other diplomats in Bangladesh and international organisations expressed shock at the incident and demanded an investigation into the incident.

He was a prominent leader of the Rohingya refugees living in the camps at  Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. Mohibullah worked for the safe and dignified return of Rohingyas to Myanmar.
