TTP abducts 18Pakistani nuclear scientists, employees

In a big blow to Pakistan, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terror group have reportedly abducted at 16 Pakistani nuclear scientists to pressure Islamabad to give into their demands. the Pakistani Taliban, have released a video in which the kidnapped nuclear scientists working for the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, are seen pleading with the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led Pakistani government to ensure their safety and accept the terror group’s demands.A group of employees, reportedly engineers working in the Qabul Khel Atomic Energy mining project in Lakki Marwat in Dera Ismail Khan, can be seen pleading the Pakistani government to ensure their safety by accepting the TTP’s demands.

According to reports, the TTP militants have also looted a large cache of uranium from Pakistan’s largest uranium mine.Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated in recent weeks, especially since Pakistan conducted a wave of airstrikes on the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terror group inside Afghanistan. The TTP responded by launching a series of attacks on the Pakistani army, killing several personnel, including a Major rank officer.
Meanwhile, militants associated with the extremist group Fitna al-Khawarij abducted 17 civilian workers from the Kabal Khel area in the Lakki Marwat district on Thursday.However, swift action by security forces and law enforcement agencies resulted in the safe recovery of eight of the abducted workers. The search and rescue operation for the remaining hostages is ongoing.
