Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that distorted history was presented before the people. Now time has come that correct history is written and presented before people. At a function on national security in New Delhi, the Home Minister accused past governments in the country of "distorting" the history. "We know since 1947 Kashmir has been a matter of discussion and controversy. Since the responsibility of writing history was in the hands of the same people who had committed mistakes, so the true facts were hidden. He also accused the Opposition of taking political advantage and doing vote bank politics over the continuance of Articles 370 and 35A that deprived the people of Kashmir. He said since its inception, BJP believed that such articles are against national unity and integrity. He rejected outrightly the reports of curfew in Kashmir, Section 144 is imposed only in eight police station areas in the state, and there is no curfew as being claimed and all landline phones are working, people are visiting hospitals for their treatment and are doing their routine work as usual. The Home Minister also attacked advocates of human rights, saying they were silent on rights of martyrs of army and para-military forces as well as their families.
