Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) of undermining India’s eternal faith and obstructing the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.Taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party and the INDIA bloc at large, Adityanath said those who had “fired bullets” at karsevaks during the Ram Mandir movement never attended the temple’s grand opening in 2024. They fired shots, while we lit lamps, said Adityanath, who is in the city to celebrate Deepostav."Every lamp reminds us that truth can be troubled but cannot be defeated. It is the destiny of truth to be victorious, and with that destiny of victory, Sanatana Dharma has continuously struggled for 500 years. As a result of those struggles, a grand and divine temple has been constructed in Ayodhya," he added.We must remember their double standards, he said.

Meanwhile, Ayodhya is celebrating Deepotsav with full enthusiasm. The city is decked up in lights of 26 lakh diyas! The sacred city is glowing amidst festive cheer. A collaboration between Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University and the Ayodhya district administration aims to make this year’s celebrations historic. Nearly 33,000 volunteers participated in lighting over 26 lakh diyas (lamps).

Ayodhya recorded an unprecedented influx of visitors this year, with over 23.82 crore devotees arriving between January and June, officials said on Sunday. The surge comes as the holy city prepares to host Deepotsav 2025, expected to draw even more pilgrims.Between January and June this year, 50,000 foreign tourists have already visited the city.
