West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has catagorically said that there is no UPA. She declared after her meeting with Nationalist Congress chief Sharad Pawar in Mumbai on Wednesday. Asked if Sharad Pawar should be declared as the UPA chairperson, Mamata Banerjee said, “What UPA? There is no UPA now. What is UPA? What will he do sitting there?” Ms Banerjee met Shiv Sena's Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut. Her meeting with Uddhav Thackeray did not take place as the Chief Minister has undergone a surgery and has been advised isolation. Pawar spelled it out-Template for 2024. Pawar also made a fresh pitch for the unity of opposition parties to take on the BJP.He also tweeted photos of the meeting.

Taking a dig at Mamata Banerjee for her cryptic remark, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that if someone thinks that without Congress anybody can defeat the BJP, it is merely a dream. "Everybody knows the reality of Indian politics. Thinking that without Congress anybody can defeat BJP is merely a dream," Venugopal said.
