In Bihar a fresh controversy has cropped up in RJD chief Lalu Yaday's family. This time expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of of Lalu Yaday is in the centre of controversy. He has condemned the spread of "fake" rumours linking him to a woman who allegedly gave birth to his child. In a press conference in Patna, the former Bihar minister vowed to take legal action against the 'Jaichand',who were responsible for spreading the claims. Yadav said he came to know about the rumours after he was told that Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi had "congratulated" him upon the birth of the child. Tej Pratap alleged that former RJD MLA from Mahua, Mukesh Roshan, was plotting to kill him. Yadav also named Sanjay Yadav, Shakti Singh and Sunil Singh, accusing them of working against him and attempting to damage his reputation due to his growing popularity. "I am distraught at rumours on social media that a woman with whom I had been falsely linked several months ago, which resulted in my expulsion from the party, has given birth to my child,” Tej Pratap said.Yadav further said he had sought security from Bihar Home Minister Samrat Choudhary and would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi if required. He claimed that attempts were being made to push him into depression through sustained defamation and pressure.

Last year, Tej Pratap was ousted from the party and his family after he shared a photo with a woman on Facebook and claimed he had been in a relationship with her for 12 years. However, Tej Pratap later claimed that his Facebook account had been “hacked” and said the post was part of an attempt to “defame and harass” him and his family. Sanjay Yadav is a sitting RJD MP and Sunil Singh is an MLC, while Shakti Singh Yadav and Mukesh Raushan are former MLAs, and Rameez is a close friend of Tejashwi Yadav, the younger sibling of Tej Pratap, who was recently elevated to the post of the party's national working president.
