Union Minister of Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed happiness that the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, has successfully come into force on the 1st of July. The Minister on Sunday released the first installment (Mother Sanction) of over Ts 25,000 crore to the states under the Mission through video conferencing. Chouhan also reviewed the implementation of VB-G-RAM-G with Rural Development Ministers of all States and Union Territories.He said that the first installment released is aimed at ensuring that States have adequate funds so that wages can be paid within 15 days. The Minister said that VB-G RAM G Act has successfully transitioned from the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

He said that the implementation of MG NREGA took over three years, while the VB-G RAM G was implemented across the country in only in a day. Chouhan said that under this Act over 7.5 lakh crore rupees will be invested in 2.86 lakh Panchayats in the next five years to accelerate the vision of Viksit Bharat. Reviewing the initial progress, the Minister said that work has started in a large number of Gram Panchayats during the first week and employment has been provided to lakhs of rural workers.
He said that wage rates under VB-G-RAM-G have been increased by around 10 per cent on average. He added, no state in the country will now have a wage rate below 300 rupees per day. Chouhan assured that there will be no shortage of funds for the effective implementation of VB-G-RAM-G. Emphasising transparency and accountability, the Minister said that Face Authentication, Geo-tagging and other technological measures must be implemented in full. He said there is no place for any irregularity or fraud in the scheme and that the Government is committed to ensuring transparency, credibility and the creation of quality assets.
