In the Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, India on Wednesday defeated Australia by eight wickets in their second practice match at ICCA, Dubai. Australia won the toss chose to bat and set the target of 153 runs with the help of Steve Smith's 57 runs. The men in blue achieved the target for two in 17.5 overs riding on Rohit Sharma's 60 runs. In the Group 'A' Qualifier Match at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, chasing a victory target of 172, Ireland were 98 for 8 in 17 overs against Sri Lanka, when reports last came in. Put into bat first, Sri Lanka scored 171 for seven riding on Wanindu Hasaranga's 71 and Pathum Nissanka's 61. Ireland's Joshua Little picked up four wickets.
In another Group 'A', Qualifier match at the same venue, Namibia won by 6 wickets over the Netherlands. Batting first, Netherlands put the target of 165 runs, which Namibia overhauled it in 19 overs.The Men's T20 World Cup was earlier scheduled to be held in India, but was shifted to the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) remains the hosts of the event. The top four teams from the qualifiers will join India, West Indies, Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, England and New Zealand for Super-12 stage which will begin from 23rd of this month. All India Radio will broadcast ball-by-ball commentary of the World Cup from 23rd of this month.
