Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Tuesday held a bilateral meeting with his British counterpart on the sidelines of the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, and the two sides discussed ways to bolster cooperation and cultural tourism. WTM London -- one of the world's premier travel and tourism events -- is being held at Excel London from November 3 to 5. Shekhawat also inaugurated the Incredible India pavilion at WTM 2026, alongside Stephanie Peacock, the UK's Minister for Tourism.
Bilateral meetings with the tourism minister of Saudi Arabia are proposed during the visit. Meetings with representatives from the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy are also on the agenda. Shekhawat will interact with representatives of organisations associated with the global tourism industry.
Several tourism stakeholders from Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Goa and other states are also participating in the event, providing an opportunity to engage with international tour operators, travel professionals and industry representatives, while exploring avenues for collaboration and expanding the region’s presence in the global tourism market.
