Shah greets NCB personnel on Raising Day, lauds anti-drug efforts

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday extended warm greetings to personnel of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on the occasion of its Raising Day, praising the agency’s role in combating drug abuse and trafficking.In a post on X, Shah described the NCB as a premier agency dedicated to protecting the nation’s youth from the menace of drugs. He said the bureau is advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a drug-free India with commitment and efficiency. “The nation salutes their dedication and patriotism,” he added.

Marking the occasion, the NCB highlighted its journey of over four decades in tackling narcotics-related challenges. The agency said it has remained steadfast in dismantling drug networks, protecting communities, and strengthening the country’s fight against drug abuse.Several security forces also extended greetings to NCB personnel. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) commended the bureau for its consistent efforts in addressing drug-related challenges and contributing to national security, noting its role in safeguarding communities.The Border Security Force (BSF) lauded the agency’s relentless drive against drug trafficking and emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts among agencies to secure borders and build a drug-free nation.
The NCB, the country’s apex drug law enforcement agency, plays a crucial role in India’s fight against narcotics through intelligence gathering, inter-agency coordination, and international cooperation to dismantle organised drug syndicates.Officials noted that the agency’s continued efforts are vital in addressing evolving challenges linked to drug abuse and trafficking, while reinforcing the government’s broader mission of ensuring a safer and healthier society.
