Security at the White House, government buildings and major commercial avenues across the United States has been beefed up. The special precautionary measures have been taken by the authorities in light of the uncertainty in the election of the next US president even after nearly 24 hours of the Election Day. The authorities have also erected a non-scalable temporary wall around the presidential complex in order to avert any untoward incident.
Nearly 600 National Guard troops have been deployed across the country in the USA to immediately respond to any untoward incident or protests. As the declaration of President-Elect is almost certain to take more time with incumbent Donald Trump challenging the counting and mail ballot procedure in many states, the authorities have geared up to answer any challenges of unrest.
While the counting is still underway , many protesters gathered near the White House and marched on the 17th Street in Washington D.C. Dozen of arrests have been reported as well. Vital government installations are on high while the Secret Service has fortified the White House.
Meanwhile, a crowd of Donald Trump supporters, some armed with rifles and handguns, gathered outside an election center in Arizona on Wednesday night after unsubstantiated rumors that votes for the Republican president were deliberately not being counted. Chanting “Stop the steal!” and “Count my vote”, the mostly unmasked protesters stood in front of the Maricopa County Elections Department in Phoenix, as Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden held a razor thin lead in the critical battleground state. Some news outlets have called Arizona for Biden, but Trump’s campaign says it is still in play.
