Exploring happiness beyond success: Insights from producer Chitra Vakil Sharma

Producer Chitra Vakil Sharma, known for her successful production ventures like Tandoor , Raktanchal, Bhram, and most recently Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, shares her profound insights on the intricate and multifaceted nature of happiness. Through a candid conversation, she delves into how happiness transcends mere success and encompasses a deeper emotional and psychological well-being.
Happiness, according to Chitra, is a complex and multifaceted concept unique to each individual. "Happiness is a complex and multifaceted concept for every individual. It's a different description. For me, a positive emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, contentment, satisfaction, and well-being makes me feel happy. Happiness is a state of being where one feels content, fulfilled, and experiences a sense of joy and well-being." She acknowledges that happiness has different levels. She says. "Happiness can have different levels, ranging from fleeting moments of pleasure to deep, long-term satisfaction. It's a subjective experience that can vary in intensity and duration, influenced by individual perspectives, values, and experiences."
Emphasizing the importance of peace and satisfaction, she states, "Peace and satisfaction are essential precursors to happiness. Peace provides a sense of calm and inner stability, while satisfaction comes from achieving one's values and goals." Chitra also highlights a common misconception where people often mistake success for happiness. "Many people often mistake success for happiness. Success and happiness are not the same things, although they can be related. Success involves achieving goals or milestones, gaining recognition or accolades, accomplishing something significant, and reaching a certain status or position. Happiness, on the other hand, is a deeper and more subjective experience. While success can bring happiness, it's not the only path to happiness. People can be successful yet unhappy, and conversely, happy without achieving traditional success. It's essential to recognize and pursue happiness beyond external measures of success."
Reflecting on her own life, she shares moments that brought her genuine happiness. "I am genuinely always a happy person, but yes, I have had moments of true happiness. I am an animal lover, so I remember when I was in my teens, I got my first pet. After insisting a lot to my parents, I think that day is a clear visual and the happiest day for me. Then, when I became a mother, I can't express the happiness I felt. During COVID, I adopted a dog. I wait to go back home and play with Dorgy and Tanvi. I think every moment I live. All my successes, like buying my first house in Powai and starting my production house, make me happy." she concludes.Overall, happiness for Chitra Vakil Sharma is a dynamic and multidimensional concept that evolves over time, experienced in various ways and degrees. Her insights offer a profound understanding of how true happiness encompasses much more than mere success.

The essence of happiness is beautifully captured by the Writer-Director-Actor Simmer Bhatia. She defines happiness as a state of internal peace, describing it as that calm, relaxed, complete feeling of Divine Bliss.Simmer Bhatia firmly believes that happiness is an absolute state. I don't know how else to define happiness." This internal state of contentment is what defines true happiness.Addressing a common misconception, she clarifies that people often mistake success for happiness. She states, "Success is outward if external achievements are involved, and that's not happiness. That's being dependent on the result of your achievements, which can vary from time to time. Self-validation is the biggest yes: Twinkle Arora

Udaariyaan fame actor Twinkle Arora, who is currently seen in Khubsurrat, says though she indulged in seeking validation from others earlier, she has now learned the power of self-validation. She said, “Seeking validation has been a big part of my learning process. I was a person who needed validation in many places, but over time I have learned and am still learning that self-validation is the biggest yes. One should not be affected if one does not get validation from others. It's easy to say this, but mastering it takes effort, which I'm also trying.”
She described herself as loving, positively naughty, ambitious, kind, and an overthinker. She added, “I'm someone who is fun-loving and just needs the right company.” Twinkle believes that she represents a different side of herself with different people, and she is totally different when she is alone. She said, “When I'm in a professional environment, I have my own silent, calm, professional attitude. And when I am with my friends, I'm just a time bomb or a laughter box.”
“When no one is watching, we are just ourselves. There are a few things that one would never do in front of people but would do when alone. For example, I would never eat with a fork and knife at home while sitting alone, but I would definitely eat like that when I'm in a gathering,” she added. She also spoke about comfort zone and said that it is important to step out of it for growth.
“There's a saying, ‘Growth comes when you step out of your comfort zone.’ I think we change our comfort zone over time. Once we step out of our comfort zone, the new zone we enter eventually becomes our comfort zone. So, we keep changing it. Sometimes it is necessary to stay in your comfort zone for protection, but stepping out of it is also very important for growth,” she said.
How has moving out of your comfort zone helped you? “Moving out of my comfort zone has helped me understand a lot of things as a human. When one tries to step out, all the fears of existence and survival pop up and try to hold you back. But for growth, you have to step out anyway. I have learned that once you step out of your comfort zone, you learn new things, set new boundaries, and eventually make the new zone your comfort zone. After a while, you will have to leave it again for better growth,” Twinkle ended.
Shubhangi Atre: My biggest USPs are my simplicity, childlike nature, and cheerfulness

Actress Shubhangi Atre says that when it comes to knowing herself, she is very confident in her skin. She describes herself as a simple person with a clear understanding of what she wants.“I would say my biggest USPs are my simplicity, childlike nature, and cheerfulness. I'm very straightforward, always curious, and a very positive, optimistic, and genuine person. It's easy for me because I know myself very well. I don't get confused; I know who I am and I stay true to that. I'm the same person I was when I first entered the industry: simple, a bit naive, and quick to trust people. I believe these are great qualities. My mother always told me, ‘Be strong, but don't deceive anyone.’ So, even if someone tries to fool me, I stay straightforward. It doesn't mean I let people take advantage of me all the time, but if someone wrongs me, it's their loss. I just keep walking my honest and clear path. And it's easy for me because I know myself very well,” she says.
She notes that she is guarded in some situations. “I am a private person. I definitely keep a filter on how much I share and where. Not everyone knows me well, and people might have their own perceptions, but I can't open up to everyone. I have a very close circle, and I can only be very free with them,” she says. She adds, “My close friends know how crazy and fun-loving I am. From a distance, it might not be obvious. Many people tell me I'm like a mirror—if I'm angry, happy, sad, upset, or irritated, it shows on my face. I don't need to do anything alone to express these feelings. However, if I'm crying, I go into hibernation mode. When I cry, I completely isolate myself; that's my very private time, and I can't cry in front of others or show it off.”
Talking about seeking validation, she says, “I always ask my sisters, my mom, and my daughter Aashi for their opinions because they are my biggest critics. Their validation means a lot to me and has always had a positive impact on me. Besides that, I always follow my heart and never make decisions with just my head. I always listen to my heart.” The actress adds that being in your comfort zone is important. “Our life is very long, so it's not necessary to always keep struggling and avoiding your comfort zone. Life comes in phases. Sometimes you really need to be in your comfort zone to gather your energy. At times, stepping out of your comfort zone can make you very tired and mentally drained. It's important to return to your comfort zone occasionally to recharge and rejuvenate. I think it depends on the phases of our life. Sometimes you should experiment and explore, and sometimes it's okay to stay in your comfort zone.”
She continues, “There have been many incidents in my life where I stepped out of my comfort zone. The biggest one was when I moved from Pune to Mumbai. My daughter Aashi was just 11 months old, and leaving her behind was really tough. I used to stay at home and take care of Aashi, but suddenly, I entered this industry, and overnight, everything changed. Of course, stepping out of your comfort zone helps. If you want to achieve something, you have to leave your comfort zone. You should work hard, be ambitious, optimistic, and positive. Consistency is key."
Himanshi Parashar on Teri Meri Doriyaann coming to an end: The show was a big deal for me

Dreams came true for actress Himanshi Parashar as she made her debut with the show "Teri Meri Doriyaann". The actress, who was seen in the web series PHD (Pyaar Hai Drama) on ZEE5, says that she could not have asked for a better debut as the show comes to a close. “Teri Meri Doriyaann was my first Hindi TV show. Being the lead of a daily soap on Star Plus is a big deal, and I made my debut with a bang. Our show used to hit the charts, which made our show a success. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge working here, be it technical knowledge, polishing my acting skills, learning about how things work in a TV show, and a lot more. I’ve given my heart and soul to my work. This show was my life from October 2022 until now. I’ve made friends here and have received a lot of love from the team. The audience has given us so much love and made Sahiba a household name. I can’t thank the makers enough for giving me the opportunity to play Sahiba in our show,” she says.
All good things come to an end, she says, adding, “When I got to know about the news of our show going off the air, I felt so heavy in my heart. I remember I was so emotional when I got the news of Sahiba dying in the show. That was very heartbreaking for me, but the fact that I would be playing another character on our show, which would be completely opposite to Sahiba, kept me going. But this time, our whole show is ending. So, it was quite hard for us. Knowing that our show is winding up and we’re shooting the last few episodes was not easy at all. We were all very much connected to our show.”
What’s next? “I’ve just started working and have so much in me to showcase. I just don’t want to stop. I’m an actor, and I want to just act, be it television shows, web series, or movies. I’m open to all. I should just find my script convincing enough for me to portray my character with full faith and passion. I’m auditioning right now and hopefully will grab something good,” she says.

He gave me some suggestions for my audition, which I incorporated. Amazingly, the role was finalized by the end of the day."
