Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that most terrible war crimes since World-War 2 being committed in Ukraine. He was addressing the United Nations Security Council via video link on Tuesday evening for the first time since the invasion of his country, "This (Russian forces in Bucha) is no different from other terrorists such as Daesh, who occupied some territory, and here it is done by a member of the United Nations Security Council," Zelensky told the UN. "The world is yet to learn the full truth of Ukraine," he said. Zelenskyy gave stark descriptions of Russian atrocities against Ukraine and a heartfelt plea for international assistance. He charged that Russia uses veto as a weapon.

He said that the UN had failed to provide security in the world and called for reforming the organization, restoring the “strength of the UN Charter.”
Zelensky also accused Russian forces of deliberately "creating mass starvation" in besieged cities like Mariupol and of causing "a global food crisis that could lead to famine in Africa, Asia, and other countries." The Ukrainian president expressed frustration with the United Nations' failure to take more drastic action against Russia. "Where is the security that the Security Council needs to guarantee? It's not there ... It is obvious that the key institution of the world, which must ensure the coercion of any aggressor to peace, simply cannot work effectively," he said. Zelenskyy also called for Russia to be removed from the Security Council.
