Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth have decided to enter into active politics. He will launch his political party in January 2021, and the formal announcement regarding the same will be made on December 31.Rajinikanth made the announcement a day after he met senior office bearers of his forum, the Rajini Makkal Mandram(RMM). "District office bearers expressed their opinions. They have said they will agree to whatever decision I take. I will announce my decision as soon as possible," the 69-year-old told reporters outside his Poes Garden residence in Chennai on Thursday. He had made the announcement about him entering politics on December in 2017.
Rajinikanth’s contemporary in films and politics, Kamal Hassan, who floated Makkal Needhi Maiam (People’s Justice Party) contested in the 2019 parliamentary elections, and is preparing to put up candidates for the 234 assembly seats. Hassan had said that he will not align with any of the Dravidians parties.
