Putin credits PM Modi for growing Russia-India trade

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday called on Russian President Vladimir Putin, as the two sides discussed bilateral ties and global developments.  In his remark, Dr Jaishankar said, "India-Russia partnership has consistently demonstrated resilience & adaptability’ even amidst a complex international landscape, our engagement has continued to deepen." Dr Jaishankar informed Putin about 'Strong Picture' Of Russia-India cooperation following intergovernmental meeting. "Overall, our economic cooperation has grown very significantly. PM Modi looks forward to welcoming you in India for the BRICS Summit," he said.

Putin highlighted growing India-Russia trade and Moscow’s readiness to further increase fertiliser supplies to India. Putin also conveyed his best wishes to PM Narendra Modi  and said he looks forward to meeting him soon on the sidelines of the SCO.

Jaishankar, who arrived in Moscow on Sunday, is on a two-day visit to Russia. It comes ahead of Putin's expected visit to New Delhi for the BRICS leaders' summit on September 12-13.
