Punjab CM Amarinder Singh meets Sonia Gandhi in Delhi

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Tuesday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at the latter’s residence in New Delhi—a development that comes ahead of a much-anticipated cabinet reshuffle. Meeting comes amid reports that although both Amarinder Singh and Sidhu have publicly issued statements saying that their differences had been resolved, their tug-of-war continued beyond the public eye.Tweets by state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu reportedly threatened to disturb the party's hard-won truce. Sidhu one agaon cornered the government over inaction against Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia and others, all of whom were allegedly involved in a 2018 drug trafficking case.
