Amid the COVID pandemic a high level drama took place in Pudhuchery UT on Monday morning, when LG refused to address the house and the Chief Minister's Office has refused to accept the LG's letter.
All started when the Lt Governor Dr Kiran Bedi has refused to address the house saying Chief Minister V Narayanasamy did not send her the annual financial statement and demand for grants meant to be presented in the House today. In her letter to CM she alleged that the has not sent her the documents as required under the provisions of the Government of Union Territories Act 1963.In a letter to Mr Narayanasamy, she asked him to give a new date for the budget presentation. Lt Governor said, the Chief Minister also sent her the copy of inaugural address late Sunday evening.
Dr Bedi said that the budget is not approved as is mandated and therefore no point to address the House in such circumstances. The LG has also informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the development. She said, the Chief Minister's Office has refused to accept her letter.
Now focus has been shifted to New Delhi and every body are watching what action, the Central govt takes in this regard.
