In Maharashtra,situation in violence hit Amaravati city was normal. Meanwhile,prohibitory orders have been imposed in Pune. The order, District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh issued on Sunday, prohibits people from uploading messages and posts on social media platforms that could incite communal tension among groups, as well as holding meetings. It will be in force from midnight on November 14 till November 20. Addressing a press conference on Sunday home minister Dilip Walse Patil said that no casualties have been reported from Amaravati so far. “We’ll definitely investigate the rallies that were taken out in Maharashtra over the incidents that may nor may not have taken place in Tripura. We will also assess the damages," Patil said.
Tripura mosque vandalization is fake-MHA
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday said the news circulating on social media about the damage and vandalization of a mosque in Gomati district of Tripura “ is fake and complete misrepresentation of facts.” The MHA urged the people to maintain calm and not be misguided by such reports. The MHA said ,” there is no reported case of damage of the structure of any masjid in Tripura in the recent past. There is no report of simple or grievous injury or rape or death of any person in these incidents as alleged in some social media posts.” The statement comes in the wake of the clashes which took place during successive days of bandh on Friday and Saturday in Amaravati in Maharashtra. Friday, Muslim organizations called for a bandh in several cities against the reported incident in Tripura. The bandh turned violent in Malegaon , Nanded and Amaravati cities where the mob threw stones and damaged public property. The BJP gave call for an Amaravati bandh on Saturday in protest against violence in the city. This bandh, however turned violent with the mob started throwing stones and damaging cars which led to a lathi charge from the police authorities. A four days curfew was imposed in Amaravati and Internet shut down.
Biggest action,says Maharashtra Minister Eknath Shinde after Gadchiroli encounter
A day after 26 Naxals were killed in an encounter on Saturday in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, Minister Eknath Shinde congratulated the police. Three police personnel were injured and they were immediately admitted to hospital and are said to be stable. State Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil also said that the action was historic not only in the history of State but also of the country. Patil also said ,” We are proud of our police.”
The encounter reportedly took place in the early hours of Saturday at the Mardintola forest near Korchi in Gadchiroli district. Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal said that a C-60 police commando team was conducting the search operation based on inputs when they encountered the Naxals.The identity of the Naxals who died in the encounter , was yet to be ascertained. Milind Teltumbde, accused in Bhima Koregaon case and a member of Maoists’ central committee was suspected to be among those dead but police has not confirmed it. The district where the ambush took place lies on the border of Chhatisgarh.
