Murmu concludes Moldova visit, arrives in North Macedonia

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday concluded her historic state visit to Moldova and  arrives in North Macedonia on Tuesday on a two-day state visit, as part of her three-nation tour of European countries aimed at boosting ties. She is the first Indian President to visit North Macedonia. Earlier, in Moldova, addressing the India-Moldova Business Forum, the president highlighted the vast potential for collaboration in sectors such as digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, and digital public infrastructure. She said India seeks partnerships based on trust and shared prosperity, while Moldova’s strategic location, skilled workforce and growing integration with European markets make it an attractive destination for Indian businesses. 
Highlighting opportunities for cooperation, President Murmu identified sectors such as digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cyber security, fintech, digital public infrastructure, renewable energy, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare. She also welcomed the growing partnership in the energy sector, noting that Indian companies are implementing a high-voltage transmission line connecting Chișinău with Romania, which will enhance Moldova’s energy resilience and regional connectivity. She said Indian companies are keen to participate in Moldova’s renewable energy projects, including solar power, battery storage, smart grids and green hydrogen.
President Murmu interacted with the members of Indian Community and Friends of India at Chișinău, Moldova. The Indian community welcomed the President with warmth and enthusiasm. Tthe Indian Community also Organized the Reception Ceremony for President Smt. Droupadi Murmu.
