PM Modi reaches Indonesia in the first leg of 3-nation visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived in Indonesia, beginning his high-stakes three-nation Indo-Pacific tour. Upon arrival, Modi was personally received by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Jakarta airport. Prime Minister Modi was accorded a grand and enthusiastic welcome from the local Indonesian community and the Indian diaspora, featuring traditional Indian and Indonesian cultural performances.

Modi later thanked President Prabowo on X for personally welcoming him at the airport and said the two leaders would hold discussions aimed at giving fresh momentum to the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was elevated during his 2018 visit to the country. This is Prime Minister’s fourth visit to Indonesia. During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral discussions with the Indonesian President and review the progress made in the partnership.
