The third India-Nordic Summit began in Norwagian capital, Oslo on Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the Prime Ministers of Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark and Finland, participated in the Summit at the Oslo City Hall.This summit will help expand India’s multifaceted cooperation with the region. It will also provide an opportunity to exchange views on global and regional issues of mutual interest. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi highlighted the growing momentum in trade and investment cooperation between Nordic countries and India. He said, democracy, rule of law and our shared commitment to multilateralism make us natural partners. Modi stated that India and the Nordic countries are united by shared democratic values, trust and a common commitment towards human-centric development.

The areas in focus are tech and innovation, sustainability, renewable energy and digitization. With Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement, TEPA, in force since October 2025, the summit will try to forge deeper trade and investment linkages. India’s bilateral trade with this block is currently at 19 billion dollars.
