Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed deep concern over reports claiming that the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod Region was targeted in a drone attack, and stressed that diplomatic efforts remain the most viable path to ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In a post on X, the Prime Minister urged all parties to avoid actions that could undermine ongoing peace initiatives. “Deeply concerned by reports of the targeting of the residence of the President of the Russian Federation. Ongoing diplomatic efforts offer the most viable path toward ending hostilities and achieving peace. We urge all concerned to remain focused on these efforts and to avoid any actions that could undermine them,” PM Modi said.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha rejected Russia’s claims of an alleged attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin He accused Moscow of fabricating the incident and spreading disinformation. Sybiha’s remarks come after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that Kyiv carried out an overnight drone attack on the state residence of President Putin in the Novgorod Region last night.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, all drones were successfully intercepted and destroyed, with no casualties or property damage reported so far.India has consistently called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with PM Modi reiterating that escalation and violence only complicate prospects for lasting peace.
