PM Modi conferred Uzbekistan's supreme state award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday conferred with Uzbekistan’s supreme state award, the Order of Oliy Darajali Dustlik, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent. The honour marks Modi’s 36th international award. 

Prime Minister Modi dedicated the award to the enduring bond between India and Uzbekistan. In a social media post, Modi said that he is honoured to receive the award. Modi said the word “Dostlik” perfectly encapsulates the core sentiment underlying the relationship between India and Uzbekistan. He added that the honour was not for a single individual but for all 1.4 billion Indians. On behalf of his fellow citizens, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan, the government and his friend, President Mirziyoyev.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a two-nation tour. After his visit to Uzbekistan, the PM will travel to Bishkek in Kyrgyz Republic for the 26th SCO Summit on August 31 and September 1, 2026.
