Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in New Delhi, reaffirming the commitment to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.“Discussions reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership, building on the strong momentum and vast potential for future growth,” Goyal said in a post on X.

Singapore PM Wong, in response, said the meeting focused on expanding cooperation in economic domains ranging from industrial park development to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. “Had a good discussion on deepening our economic partnership from industrial park development to emerging tech like AI,” he wrote.
During his engagements, Goyal also met Chin Yau Seng, CEO of Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC), to discuss expanding cooperation in the aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sector. “Also explored new avenues for collaboration in innovation, skill development and investment to boost India’s growing aerospace ecosystem and enhance global connectivity,” the Minister noted.The Commerce Minister further held discussions with Lee Chee Koon, Group CEO, and Manohar Khiatani, Senior Executive Director of CapitaLand Investment. The talks focused on advancing sustainable urban development and infrastructure growth in India, particularly in logistics, warehousing, and data centres. “Also explored new opportunities for driving India’s growth story through strategic collaboration,” Goyal added.
The visit by PM Wong marks a continuation of high-level exchanges between the two nations. Last month, he met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi to discuss the outcomes of the 3rd India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, including cooperation on cross-border data flows and capital markets. “There is great potential for Singapore and India to further bolster our financial and digital linkages,” Wong had said.Wong’s India visit also coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, underscoring their commitment to strengthening ties across trade, technology, and sustainable development.
