Piyush Goyal invites Singapore investors to capitalize on India’s growth

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called on Singapore-based investors to explore the vast opportunities that India presents across multiple sectors, highlighting the country’s strong fundamentals, skilled workforce, and expanding market.Speaking at an investors’ meeting under the theme “India Singapore @ 60: Partnership for Growth” on Saturday, Goyal urged businesses to seize the momentum of the bilateral relationship. “I would urge each one of you to look at the scale of opportunity that India offers,” he said.

Goyal underlined what he termed India’s “three singular definitions” – the size of its market, the scale of opportunities, and the skill of its workforce. These, he said, form the foundation of India’s rapid economic development.“We are looking at working together, fast-tracking various initiatives that the India-Singapore Business Roundtable initiated,” Goyal said, noting that both public and private sector officials are working tirelessly to create models that will accelerate bilateral growth.Pointing to new areas of cooperation, he added: “Whether it’s in the world of capital, research and development, skills and talent, education, or sustainability – there are many new frontiers to scale together.”
The minister highlighted that Indian chambers of commerce and industry, Singaporean chambers, and global companies including European, American, and Japanese firms came together on Friday in Singapore to explore ways of deepening cooperation with India.“I think the time is now, the time is right,” Goyal told a gathering of around 250 investors. “If we lose this opportunity, if we fail to capture the momentum that this relationship has gained, we will really miss out on a defining moment that can take the Singapore-India partnership to newer levels.”Goyal expressed confidence that the India-Singapore partnership would move into “fast-track mode,” driven by the leadership of both countries and the engagement of investors.“We value and trust your friendship, and I can assure you the delta of opportunity that India offers will truly provide your businesses and your technologies a very large market,” he said.Assuring stakeholders of India’s commitment to the partnership, Goyal added: “We will not fail to catch this huge opportunity that this partnership provides.”
