Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy said on Saturday that the 10-day 'Mysore Chalo' padayatra has been started against the alleged illegal activities of the Congress-ruled government since coming to power in the state. "We are going to finish this programme in Mysuru. It is against several illegal activities done by this (Congress) government: corruption, land grabbing," the JD(S) leader told reporters in Bengaluru.He said that during the Padyatra they would educate the people of Karnataka on how this government came to power. "After that, from day one, how they started to grab the money from the exchequer also, even from officials".

Meanwhile,Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) opposition alliance in Karnataka on Saturday kicked off its 10-day 'Mysore Chalo' padayatra from Kengeri in Bengaluru to Mysore over alleged MUDA and Valmiki Corporation scams.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress chief DK Shivakumar on Saturday along with Congress workers participated in a bike rally in Ramanagara as part of the Jan Andolan against the BJP-JDS padayatra.

Earlier, a complaint was filed by social activist Snehamayi Krishna against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and nine others for allegedly forging documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. The complaint alleges wrongdoing by Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathy, his brother-inlaw Malikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, who claimed to be a landowner, and his family. It was further alleged that MUDA created fake documents and obtained plots worth crores of rupees. Snehamayi Krishna has raised several questions in his complaint.
