In Cricket, India beat West Indies by 44 runs in the second One-Day-International to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday night. Earlier, put in to bat first, Rohit Sharma-led India scored 237 for nine in the stipulated 50 overs with the help of Surya Kumar Yadav's 64 and K L Rahul's 49 runs. For visitors, Alzarri Joseph and Odean Smith took two wickets each. In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 193 in 46 overs as Prasidh Krishna picked up four wickets while Shardul Narendra Thakur took for the hosts.

The final ODI will be played at the same venue on Friday. Skipper Rohit Sharma has now won his first ODI series since being named permanent skipper of the team.
