In Madhya Pradesh, political drama was continue on Monday. despite the Governor's directions to seek the trust vote immediately after the Governor's address in the assembly. but the beleagured Kamal nath govt got some reprieve when Speaker adjourned the house till March 26 in view of the state government's concern over coronavirus. March 26 is the day when voting for the Rajya Sabha elections will be held. This is the Budget session of the Assembly.
The BJP has moved the Supreme Court after the adjournment of the state assembly. The plea has been filed by 10 MLAs, including former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, seeking a direction to the Kamal Nath-led government to undertake floor test. The Supreme Court is likely to hear the matter on Tuesday. The Assembly, which had assembled on Monday morning for the beginning of the budget session, was adjourned till March 26 after Governor Lalji Tandon’s address. In his address, the Governor Lalji Tandon appealed to members: “All must follow the rules under the Constitution so that dignity of Madhya Pradesh remains protected.” Tandon had asked Mr Kamal Nath to seek the trust vote immediately after the Governor's address in the assembly.
In his letter to the governor, Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Monday stated that holding of a floor test in the Assembly was not possible in view of some MLAs of the Congress being held in "captivity" by the BJP with the help of Karnataka Police. The drama continued even after the House was adjourned, as 106 MLAs of the BJP, led by former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, reached the residence of the governor and demanded that a floor test be held immediately.
The Kamal Nath Government is facing a deep crisis following the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs after former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia left the party on Tuesday.
In the meantime some media reports says that on BJP MLA was reportedly seen in CM house during the day time on Monday and reportedly said that there is no threat to the Kamal Nath govt.
