The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026, with 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses across the country. The agency said the results were announced on schedule to ensure the counselling and medical college admission process proceeds without delay. It had released the final answer key ahead of declaring the results. According to the NTA, nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was held on June 21 at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The exam was conducted in 13 languages. The agency said candidates from almost all states and Union Territories featured among the toppers, while women accounted for more than 58 per cent of the qualified candidates. The highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly secured by Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana. 19 candidates scored above 700 marks.

The agency said over 93 per cent of the top 138 performers were first-time NEET candidates, while nearly all of them were between 17 and 19 years of age. Qualified candidates emerged from all 36 States and Union Territories. Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of qualified candidates with over 1.7 lakh, while Lakshadweep had 43 qualified candidates.The NEET UG 2026 re-examination, conducted on June 21, saw the participation of nearly 20 lakh candidates at 5,440 examination centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
In a statement, the NTA said the timely declaration of results would help keep the counselling and medical college admission schedule on track. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now download their scorecards from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The NTA has also published the lists of All India Rank holders, state toppers, category-wise toppers, qualifying cut-offs and language-wise participation.
