Mobile courts to ensure mask wearing in Dhaka

Relentless efforts by India helped in keeping the spotlight on cross-border terrorism it faced and the world was gradually becoming aware of the global nature of international terror, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Monday. We have in our immediate neighbourhood, a particularly egregious example of state-sponsored cross-border terrorism. The world is gradually becoming aware of the global nature of international terrorism," he said, in a virtual address at a programme organised by the Indian School of Business (ISB) of Hyderabad. The Minister added: "Our relentlessefforts have kept it in the spotlight bringing out the related aspects like terror finance radicalisation and cyber recruitments. More than 24 lakh of our people have been repatriated through flights by land and sea. From Air India to the Indian Navy, we pressed all our resources to achieve this goal, Jaishankar said. The countrys immediate focus was on economic recovery and the figures for September and October have "really been encouraging", he said.

-Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has facilitated multiple options for EPS pensioners to submit their Digital Life Certificate, DLC, close to their home or at their door step owing to the pandemic.Jeevan Praman Patra, JPP submitted through all these modes/agencies are equally valid.In addition to the 135 regional offices and 117 district offices of EPFO, EPS pensioners can now submit DLC at pension disbursing bank branch and nearest post offices.DLC can also be submitted at nation-wide network of over 3.65 lakh Common Services Centers.Apart from this, EPS pensioners can also submit DLC using the UMANG app. Recently, India Post Payments Bank has launched the doorstep Digital Life Certificate  service for pensioners.EPS pensioners can now submit online request for availing doorstep DLC service on payment of a nominal fee.A postman from the nearest Post Office will visit a pensioner and complete the process of generating DLC at the home of the pensioner only.As per fresh guidelines, EPS pensioners can now submit DLC at any time during the year, as per their convenience.

-In Assam, the Baghjan blowout well in Tinsukia district was fully brought under control.The well has been killed with brine solution. The Spokesperson of Oil India Limited Tridiv Hazarika said that after the 24 hours of observation, all the parameters are found under control. He said that as per norms, the well would be abandoned now. It took over 5 months to bring the situation fully under control at Baghjan Hazarika said, the experts with the help of  a 60 tonnes snubbing unit killed the blowout well. 

-An armed mob attacked the house of senior BJP leader Gopikrishna Nema here in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, police said.The BJP leader and his family members are safe, but an unidentified man was seriously injured in the incident which occurred in evening."A mob attacked Gopikrishna Nema's place after they came to know that one Ayaz Guddu with whom they are have a dispute over money had visited the BJP leader's house on the occasion of Deewali,"  Nema said around 40 men armed with sticks, knives and swords have attacked a man causing grievous injuries to him.The BJP leader said he closed the doors of his house at the time of the incident for the safety of his family members and none of them suffered any injuries. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Harinarayan Chari Mishra told reporters at the spot.The DIG said the accused persons have been identified and a search is on to nab them.

-Taking a tough stance towards reported cases of people not wearing masks in public places despite government order, the Bangladesh government has decided to use mobile courts in order to ensure that people wear masks.Briefing media in Dhaka after the Cabinet meeting Chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said that government has decided to take tougher measures as COVID 19 may show rising trend in the country. He said that the concerned authorities have been ordered to conduct mobile court operations in Dhaka to implement the government order on wearing masks in public places. Earlier, the government of Bangladesh had ordered the strict implementation of ‘no mask no service’ policy making masks compulsory in all offices and public places.In the meanwhile, Bangladesh reported 21 deaths and 2139 fresh cases of COVID 19 in the country.According to the latest figures released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the death toll due to coronavirus in the country has gone up to 6217 while the total number of infections has reached 4.34 lakh.
